I definitely get the idea! Well, we have had a very humid summer this year. Not overwhelmingly hot — temperatures were milder overall — but incredibly high levels of humidity, which was really unusual! Nevertheless, I’m pleased with the gel pads — they’re not so hot as I imagined them to be, e.g. I feared they wouldn’t let me sweat freely, but that seems not to be the case. I can say that the wig feels much hotter than the pads by far — and I do have a rather light wig, with very thin human hair and very ventilated! Still, that was what made most of the difference — I couldn’t even notice any heat from the pads.

I can’t even say if they’re cooler or hotter than the foam pads. I would say they’re about the same. Then again, as said, temperatures were not extremely hot. But wow, do they make a difference in terms of curviness…

Sandra-I just now saw your reply! Thank you for the info. I ended up getting a Veronica 1. I chose that one because I wear short skirts and short shorts and I thought it would be less hot. I like the Veronica 1 but I do think the Veronica 2 and 5 would look better under a tight skirt or jeans. And now I am dreaming about getting a Veronica 5 with the gel pads; the idea of it "bouncing" and feeling like flesh is very exciting. And I think the nude lace would be less conspicuous if I did wear something short. Did you ever decide if the gel was much hotter than the foam during the summer? I have a thing about being hot. I am in Alabama, where it is extremely humid and hot, So with wig, breast forms, corset, hose, hip pads…you get the idea. 🙂

Hi Rayne, sorry for replying just today! The Veronica 2, as far as I know, can only take foam pads, and not gel pads. Since I own both 🙂 I can say that there is no way the gel pads from my Ver 5 will fit the Ver 2. The reverse, however, is true! So probably it's better for you to buy the Ver 5 first with foam pads, and if you wish to change later, you can always do that. It's a world of difference, let me tell you… specially in the weight! I've been using my old Ver 2 now and then and now it seems way too light for me, lol. Also, when sitting down, the Ver 5 with gel pads will look way, way more natural.

And no, you don't need a hose to smooth anything out. If you go for the "extra curvy" model (which goes way beyond JayLo's booty!) and wear ultra-tight leggings/sportswear/swimwear then you might notice something at the very edge of the pad. But I can tell you that I often use very clingy dresses and have even tried rather tight jeans, and it's really impossible to figure out visually you're wearing anything beneath those. Of course, if you have gel pads, then it will be even impossible to figure out anything if someone touches you (or even pinches the Veronica!) because it extremely reproduces the feeling of human flesh 🙂

I have also seen those videos and images of self-made pads, and, except for higher-end products made of silicone or gel, which you need medical adhesive to glue them on your hips, I have absolutely no idea how simple hoses will hold them in place — unless you're just posing for pictures. I've tried that once — using the foam pads from the Veronica 2 and slipping them in a hose — and they will never stay in place, no matter what you do (except if you glue them… which will ruin the foam pads… and even duct tape doesn't hold to the pads). So I fully understand you. Fortunately, Classic Curves International understands both of us, and their special garments definitely keep the pads in place exactly where you want them to be. To this day I'm still impressed how even the incredibly weightier gel pads stay in place all the time, even after walking, sitting up and down, sitting crosslegged for meditation, twisting myself into the car and out… it seems magical how they stay in place all the time! Or, well, not magic, but just great design.

I bought a gel set from Espy a year ago.
Prior to that I used the foam pads which I had covered with a fine cotton scrim which eliminated the slippage problem. These pads worked well with panty hose or a simple panty girdle; when I saw the gel pads a light bulb went off 🙂 and finally I have the right feel to go with an excellent bust hip to waist ratio of 107 91 109.
I just stand in front of the mirror in my skimp scamp panties and slip them in one at a time, my panty hose are already in position half way up my thighs, and I simply ease the panty hose up over the panty covered pads then slip my hand down the sides to smooth out any ripple in the gel pad caused by the hose pulling an edge up.

If I want to wear an open bottom girdle I pull the girdle on right to where it would normally fit and then pull the base of the girdle up over the rest of the girdle so that my belly button is visible and the folded edge is level with the lace top of my panties. Insertion of the pads as previously described, the folded girdle bottom edge is then gently drawn down over the panty clad gel pad and then simply zipped up on the side to complete the operation. Time taken 5 minutes from start to finish.
